So you’re probably asking yourself “Is his life so interesting that he doesn’t have time to update because of all the going-ons he’s a part of, or is his life so interesting that there’s no way I could comprehend it with 100% of my brain if he were to chronicle it?”
Unfortunately, neither of these plausible scenarios are the case with me. I’d like to say that I’ve been travelling the world, saving lives, playing legendary games of table tennis, or even contributing in some small way… but I haven’t. This fact shouldn’t suggest that there have been no new occurences in my life, however…
I have a new job now. Video City, as fun as it was, did not work out unfortunately. The hours were decent, but it was a labor of love. I needed to expand my horizons a bit and obtain a job that actually pays the bills; gets me caught up and things of that nature. I took a new job at a company called Diztinct Designs as an independent contractor. I’m doing web design, getting paid a hefty wage, and working at my own pace. Pretty much the embodiment of the American Dream, huh? So work is new, and going well.
School is going pretty well too. I need to focus a bit more, and dedicate myself to my work a bit more, but I’m pulling my weight indeed. I’m just going through one of those Good-Will-Hunting-Having-Great-Potential-Yet-Squandering-It phases right now. My GPA is still a solid 3.5 and with any luck it’ll hover in that region after this quarter. I did put off almost all of my work until the very last minute and am now suffering because of it, but I have a little more than 5 days to get it all done, which I’m thinking is a pretty reasonable amount of time.
As far as personally / socially, I’m just existing. Going along with whatever crowd I happen to be with at the time. It’s fun, relaxing, and interesting. I feel some tangents coming on:
I downloaded a few really great albums recently, they include: Dane Cook’s Retaliation, Darkest Hour’s Hidden Hands Of A Sadist Nation, Glassjaw’s Worship and Tribute (a classic), It Dies Today’s The Caitiff Choir, Tool’s 10,000 Days, and the as of yet unreleased but leaked on the internets, Muse’s Black Holes and Revelations. Not all new, not all released, but certainly all 100% good stuff.
I’ve been playing Enigmo 2 like it’s nobodies business, and it IS nobodies fuckin business, you asshole.
I’m starting a podcast soonly, when I find a suitable sidekick / partner to do so. Interested? Maybe we can collaborate.
I’ll call you later.

Well I’m at the Video Store now and I decided to update for my own well being. Nothing new has been going on recently outside of the realm of school and work. I’m digging my school schedule at current, although I’d never admit that on the Tuesday and Wednesday that I’m there. On Tuesdays, I’m at school for 14 hours and my classes are Principles of Digital Photography, Video Production, and Video Graphics. On Wednesday I’m at school for 9 hours and my classes are College Math (a joke) and Intro To Authoring. After that I go into work from 5 to 10. All in all it’s not a bad racket.
If you don’t know how to use 1) a Mac and 2) Photoshop by the time you’re in your second quarter, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY KILL YOURSELF AND THEN DROP OUT (not necessarily in that order)
Jesus, these people keep asking the most ridiculous questions:
1) How do you turn snapping on?
2) How do you undo?
3) How do I make an equal aspect shape?
4) Can you help me?
“Computer Science” is a first quarter class. You don’t learn advanced programming. You just learn how to use Windows and how to use Mac. SIMPLE.
Intro To Photoshop is a first quarter class. Self explanatory.
Stupid people often waste my time / money / patience.

Well, here I am, blogging and updating my bookmarks… Instead of writing my 6 page Argument essay for English Comp tomorrow. Instead of working on the massive poster that’s due for Digital Typography. Whoopsie!
The good news is that I have officially cleaned most of crap/dead links from my bookmarks and have filed them in a tidier fashion. So that’s good. I’ll eventually need to start sharing them via del.icio.us or some other web 2.0 bookmarking service.
Being the nerd that I truly am, I also updated a lot of my programs today. I got the new version of Quicksilver for Mac (which is a must have on any Mac I use), latest version of Camino (my new favorite browser), I switched to Gyaz Mail from Apple Mail because it was pissing me off too bad, and I finally broke down and got TextMate for Mac and I am quite pleased with it. What does this mean for all of you? Absolutely nothing… It’s just more rambling so I can push my paper back farther and farther.

Ok, I think it’s about time to tackle this beotch. QWPOXMdjJHkdkjfajshfca…
“I’m unretrofied for you.”
Anything I can do at this point to keep myself awake would be fantastic. I was up all night working on my English Comp mid term, writing some journals (also for Comp class), studying for my Digital Typography mid term today, and finishing a Photoshop project for next week. I’m tired as hell, but all that work is done, and now a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
Right now I’m testing driving a fairly new 2Ghz iMac G5 in the video encoding department. I’m just seeing how long it takes to encode various types of things, etc, etc. I must say I am pleased with the results and cannot wait to get one of these bad motherhumpers for myself (with the Intel Core Duo, of course).
I think I’m beginning to run out of things to say on this journal… It’s becoming stagnant, like the water that gathers on top of a pool cover from the rains during the less-frigid winter months. I really need to finish my personal site, it will encompass everything I have to say, offer, and showcase… All in one spot. Then, when the iMac arrives (whenever my lazy ass gets enough money to buy it), I believe a Video Podcast will be in order with special guests, weekly news stories, and more Su Doku than the human mind can logically figure out! GOOOOO ME!
Soon.
Edit at 12:11 PM: Holy shit, I just remembered that I forgot to post about the birthday and Atlantic City! When I wake up this evening I’ll be all over that shit.
These updates are about as erratic as my current sleep schedule… go figure.
Well, the birthday is in 4 days, and I am quite excited about that. I hope, more than anything, that I get to see some of the family that haven’t been too accessible in recent months / years. It would also be nice if some friends I haven’t seen in a while were able to come to my birthday get together in Atlantic City on February 4th. It will be bitchin’.
School is going great. I really dig all of my classes and I’m doing quite good in all of them. Audio class is especially interesting because we’re learning Pro Tools and working in an incredible Mac lab. I really dig going to school and all that’s left for my life to be in perfect balance is finding me a decent part time job with hours that fit my schedule ::cough:: design ::cough::.
I’m not really in creative writing mood lately. I have, however, been in design-mode overdrive. I’m quite pleased to say that the new dark driving web page is complete and sexier than ever. You can check it out by navigating on over to http://www.darkdriving.com.
I’ll have more updates when time and creativity permits. Just know that I have some incredible plans in store for the very near future.
So little to say and so much time… Here goes something….
My name is Andrew to everyone who knows me and nothing to the people who don’t. I rarely feel inclined to write about myself and this small text blurb is no exception. I’m a film maker, of sorts. A designer, of sorts. A musician, of sorts. A photographer, of sorts. An armada of etceteras march behind these four generals.
The point I’m trying to make is that I enjoy art in all of it’s forms, and try my best to creatively express myself in every medium I take a liking towards. As always, things like life get in the way of being a non-stop idea factory, but that life is something that I’m thoroughly enjoying at the moment.
It consists of my beautiful girlfriend who I am very much in love with, a job that pays me well to do work that I would otherwise be doing for free, and a family and friends that I wouldn’t trade the world for. It’s safe to assume that I’m walking on air/over water/atop mountain peaks (pick one… hell, pick all three).
