I know it’s been a bit since I last posted, but now I have interesting things to say. So buckle the fuck up and listen.
I’ve been doing some reading about internet trends and came across something I thought was pretty neat, a brand new web browser called Flock. Here’s a little snippet from their website:
Well, we’re pretty much a bunch of regular folks trying to shake things up.
We started Flock to build tools that empower people and smooth out some of the more hairy parts of living and working online. As it is, we live and breathe this stuff everyday and wanted better tools to do the things that we love doing online.
It’s built on the Mozilla code base so it has everything you’re used to in Firefox, but has some very interesting new features like: Integrated blogging with very popular services like Blogger, Deadjournal, Livejournal, Wordpress, etc, integrated photo sharing with Flikr, and integrated bookmark sharing on del.icio.us, and speaking of bookmarks, it allows you to tag each bookmark for easy sorting and filing. It also has an innovative little device called the Shelf that allows you to drag and drop little snippets of code, text, or images for later use on a research project, photo share, or (you guessed it) blog. I checked it out and for being barely past the concept stage, it looks very promising. I recommend giving it a glance: Flock. My rating: 4 out of 5 seagulls.
All that techie-talk aside, life has been pretty good with the exception of all these god damn thunderstorms Philly has been having. The only thing I hate more than terrible weather is having to travel in it. /bitching. School is going well, and I have a mid term I should be studying for on Wednesday, but I’m fairly confident in my Art History knowledge. I also have a few other school projects that need completing this evening but they are easy enough, just a drawing or two. It’s my hope to keep a digital copy of all my design work, and eventually publish most of it on this very blog. So look out for that. Finally, I’m happy to announce that I have downloaded every episode of My Name Is Earl, every episode of The Office, the first season of Arrested Development, and the first season of Family Guy. Andrew: 1. Government: 0.
“I know one day, all our scars will disappear like the stars at dawn…”
So little to say and so much time… Here goes something….
My name is Andrew to everyone who knows me and nothing to the people who don’t. I rarely feel inclined to write about myself and this small text blurb is no exception. I’m a film maker, of sorts. A designer, of sorts. A musician, of sorts. A photographer, of sorts. An armada of etceteras march behind these four generals.
The point I’m trying to make is that I enjoy art in all of it’s forms, and try my best to creatively express myself in every medium I take a liking towards. As always, things like life get in the way of being a non-stop idea factory, but that life is something that I’m thoroughly enjoying at the moment.
It consists of my beautiful girlfriend who I am very much in love with, a job that pays me well to do work that I would otherwise be doing for free, and a family and friends that I wouldn’t trade the world for. It’s safe to assume that I’m walking on air/over water/atop mountain peaks (pick one… hell, pick all three).
