I might use this picture to masturbate to later. I know you were all thinking it, I just said it out loud.
I’ve been watching quite a bit of Studio 60 recently. In case you don’t know, it’s a show written by Aaron Sorkin (also the creator of The West Wing, Sports Night, and A Few Good Men) that’s basically a behind the scenes look at a sketch-comedy show of the SNL ilk. Matthew Perry, Bradley Whitford, and Amanda Peet ride on the back of this mighty beast and their performances are incredible. Amanda Peet’s character is the president of the fictional network. She’s an A-Type female who’s ambitious, driven, and tightly wound. I don’t know what it is exactly about her character, but she’s incredibly attractive to me. Something about a female who’s large and in charge gets my motor revving*.
So my dad kind of bailed on me today. He was supposed to meet with me at his office in the afternoon and he bounced out before I arrived. I’m a little disappointed with him as of late. Haven’t actually spoken with him in close to two weeks, and haven’t seen him in even longer than that. I’m sure that he knows I’m in need of some help, I just hope that his knowing is not that reason why he’s been avoiding me. We’ll see when I try again tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after…
Looking forward to AC tomorrow, if for nothing else than just getting away from home. Things have been a little crazy around here as of late and it would be really nice to just get away and screw my head on properly. With a bit of luck, all will be right in my world after this weekend.
I leave you with yet another picture of Miss Amanda Gorm, errr, Peet…

* - my “motor revving” could easily be confused with my “fist pumping” near my “crotch region”. I assure you that I’ve built a working prototype of an engine that actually revs when something aesthetically or intellectually pleasing occurs in my life.

So I was pleasantly surprised this evening when I stopped by Wawa for my favorite beverage, Lemonade Iced Tea, and found that they had actually reduced the price back down to $1.50 (from $1.59). Prior to today, it was awkward and ridiculous trying to remember to bring a dollar, two quarters, and a dime for my half gallon of delight. What was even worse was paying with two dollars and receiving a quarter, a dime, a nickel, and a penny as change. The universe seems a bit more balanced now, there’s a bit of an extra spring in my step as well. I’d like to take this moment to thank the Woods Family (current CEO’s name: Dick) for being such a great friend to me and everyone in the tri-state area for the past 104 years. From the bottom of my stomach, thanks.

The job hunt continues. US Airways is jerking me around a bit, it feels. I’ve had three, count ‘em three, follow-up interviews, none of which (after the first) seemed terribly important to me. I had a drug test today, which I will pass, and then God knows how many more interviews I’ll have until they actually decide to hire me. I believe tonight I will post my resume (resumes, actually, I have one for each area of my expertise) on Craigs List and see if I get any responses tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, I’ll be heading up to dad’s office to visit and ask for many various financial favors. He’s never been really involved in my life, and I’m not saying that I can be bought, but I think if he were to help me with some of my main issues (ie: financial aid for school), that would be a step in the right direction for us.
With a bit of luck, this weekend will have some positive outcomes…
This is perhaps the most innovative use of 18,500 gallons of paint EVER.
I really enjoy a good logo, especially one created with nothing more than typography. Here’s one I’ve been working on just for me. All feedback is appreciated and encouraged. (Click for a larger image)

So I’ve noticed that since the dawn of 2006, I’ve written in this blog approximately 19 times (not including this one). That’s like one blog every two and a half weeks. UNACCEPTABLE! Compare that with 78 posts in 2005 and you can see how much of a slacker I really am. Either way, I hope I can get this up to the mid 50s by December 31st by doing an incredible amount of writing and actually doing things that are worthy of writing about. I’ve also decided to be as crazy honest as I can be from here on out. I’ve always been honest, but I’ve also been vague (see: post titled “I Can See Clearly Now…”). I know what I’m talking about, but sometimes I glaze over situations so much that they’re practically indecipherable to the normal human being. I’m not sure how many people read this and it’s probably better off that way. If I know you, then you’re on my radar, and my radar is used to launch surface-to-air missiles made of words and descriptions.
In unrelated news, Denise and I just got done watching Click with Adam Sandler. It was a surprisingly good movie, and this is coming from someone who really hasn’t really liked an Adam Sandler movie since Happy Gilmore. The tell is that Christopher Walken is in it and he generally only attaches his names to quality scripts. He did a great job, as well. It’s seems to be a biopic that closely rivals our situation with our dad, so maybe the relatability makes it a better movie for me. Either way, check it out. It might end up being Adam Sandler’s last funny movie.
Speaking of movies, I’ve been banging out scripts and ideas left and right recently. I’ve told a few people some of my ideas for feedback purposes and responses range from mild intrigue to complete obessesion, so that’s dandy. Thus far the “crime” script I’ve been working on for a few months now is finally coming together. The “dark dramedy” (drama+comedy), as I’ve dubbed it, is still in its formative stages but has a premise that’s primed for the silver screen. We’ll be filming some great new stuff over the coming weekends and I hope I get to see some new faces on the script as well as some of the veteran players. Exciting times.
I’m sure the aesthetic change is quite apparent, but some of the behind-the-scenes stuff going on at Blogger are really impressing me. It’s incredibly easy to customize your page layout, colors, and content. You don’t even need to know HTML anymore, it’s all WYSIWYG. They’ve also added a pretty keen tagging system, which I can use to label similar posts. I’ve gone back in time a few posts to see just to tag some posts accordingly and I’m pleased with the results. Innovations in others sparks creativity in myself, so you can expect many more blogs from now on. It is my deepest hope to write in here at least every other day, even if it’s the most mundane detail of my life. Practice makes perfect, and writing in here will certainly help me out with some of my other projects.
So little to say and so much time… Here goes something….
My name is Andrew to everyone who knows me and nothing to the people who don’t. I rarely feel inclined to write about myself and this small text blurb is no exception. I’m a film maker, of sorts. A designer, of sorts. A musician, of sorts. A photographer, of sorts. An armada of etceteras march behind these four generals.
The point I’m trying to make is that I enjoy art in all of it’s forms, and try my best to creatively express myself in every medium I take a liking towards. As always, things like life get in the way of being a non-stop idea factory, but that life is something that I’m thoroughly enjoying at the moment.
It consists of my beautiful girlfriend who I am very much in love with, a job that pays me well to do work that I would otherwise be doing for free, and a family and friends that I wouldn’t trade the world for. It’s safe to assume that I’m walking on air/over water/atop mountain peaks (pick one… hell, pick all three).
