What I’ve Learned…

…other than Color Theory, Drawing, Design, Art History, and the History of Motion Media is this:

  • Although time consuming and often-times frustrating, college is a highly rewarding experience. I had a hard time realizing this fact my first time around at La Salle. Working hard pays off in the form of accomplishment, experience, and knowledge… all accolades no one can take from you.
  • I need to learn to budget my time better and…
  • I need a job to help out with paying the friggin, yet inevitable, bills.
  • Staff and teachers get +10 coolness for touting an iPod. Students get no additional coolness points, even if you have a new video iPod.
  • Forcing you to work in a group teaches you how real-world dynamics whether your group members are willing and helpful or if they’re lazy and worthless. (Trust me, I know)
  • Project timelines are always wrong, no matter how much planning went into them.
  • Snow White was made up of 2,000,000 individual ilustrations (whoops, that falls into Motion Media knowledge)
  • College is a totally indespensible tool, and I’m glad that I’m back.

I would like to give a special thank you to Rachelle, who made sure that I got in to school this quarter. If you weren’t aware, I was really dragging my feet about registering for classes this summer and she gave me the extra push I needed to get my shit together to finally start and successfully end the enrollment process. Thanks Rach.

My next post will have a list of all my grades this quarter. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for our old pal Andrew.

“Oh confinement binds you. Nothing scares me, nothing thrills me. I’ve fooled myself into believing. That nothing ails me, nothing kills me.”

about this

So little to say and so much time… Here goes something….

My name is Andrew to everyone who knows me and nothing to the people who don’t. I rarely feel inclined to write about myself and this small text blurb is no exception. I’m a film maker, of sorts. A designer, of sorts. A musician, of sorts. A photographer, of sorts. An armada of etceteras march behind these four generals.

The point I’m trying to make is that I enjoy art in all of it’s forms, and try my best to creatively express myself in every medium I take a liking towards. As always, things like life get in the way of being a non-stop idea factory, but that life is something that I’m thoroughly enjoying at the moment.

It consists of my beautiful girlfriend who I am very much in love with, a job that pays me well to do work that I would otherwise be doing for free, and a family and friends that I wouldn’t trade the world for. It’s safe to assume that I’m walking on air/over water/atop mountain peaks (pick one… hell, pick all three).
