Back To School, Fool

Ok, so here are a few things that happened this week which were awesome:

I started classes again and so far everything seems to be completely acceptable. Intro to Audio seems like a fun class, Image Manipulation will be useful, Digital Typography is a godsend (learning Illustrator and Quark, thank you Jeebus!), and I haven’t been to English Comp 2 yet (this afternoon will be the first class, and hopefully the last if I can test out). I may or may not attend a fifth class depending on scheduling and class sizes. It kind of sucks, but it’s my fault for waiting for long to actually register. No matter, I expect 4 A’s this quarter to bring the ol’ GPA a few notches. If I only have four classes, that just means that I can dedicate more time to each of them and do a real stellar job on the midterms and finals.

Macworld San Francisco happened on Tuesday and I caught the full webcast last night. No more excuses, it is time to buy a new Mac. The new MacIntels seem to be incredible machines and I can’t wait to get up to King Of Prussia’s Apple Store to test drive the new iMac one before I buy it. Benchmark tests show it to be 2-3x faster than the iMac G5 (yowza!). I never thought I’d own another Intel-based machine since circa 2001, but I’ve been awestruck by what Apple and Intel engineers have pulled off: dual processor iMacs and the first (from what I can tell) dual processor notebook. Sources also say that since it’s an x86 (Intel) processor and not PowerPC (Motorola), that Windows Vista can actually be installed on a partition. I’m not too keen on marring an iMac with Windows, but it could be useful for gaming if nothing else. Along with the hardware news, Apple announced the new iLife suite, new iWork suite, and changes to their .Mac service. My prediction: Andrew will be swimming in new technologies by mid-to-late February.

Over and Out,
x Andrew

about this

So little to say and so much time… Here goes something….

My name is Andrew to everyone who knows me and nothing to the people who don’t. I rarely feel inclined to write about myself and this small text blurb is no exception. I’m a film maker, of sorts. A designer, of sorts. A musician, of sorts. A photographer, of sorts. An armada of etceteras march behind these four generals.

The point I’m trying to make is that I enjoy art in all of it’s forms, and try my best to creatively express myself in every medium I take a liking towards. As always, things like life get in the way of being a non-stop idea factory, but that life is something that I’m thoroughly enjoying at the moment.

It consists of my beautiful girlfriend who I am very much in love with, a job that pays me well to do work that I would otherwise be doing for free, and a family and friends that I wouldn’t trade the world for. It’s safe to assume that I’m walking on air/over water/atop mountain peaks (pick one… hell, pick all three).
